\nT.A.P. – Transportes A\u00e9reos Portugueses – was founded as a Special Department of the Secretariat for Civil Aviation on 14th<\/span><\/sup> March 1945. They operated Lockheed Super Constellations and these were superseded by Viscounts from BEA which were used on the London – Lisbon route. After BEA. began Comet services in early 1960 4Bs were switched to cover T.A.P. services between Madeira and London.<\/p>\n
